New Seasons

School is back in session. The air is crisp in the morning. Halloween candy has replaced the pool floaties in big box stores. The season is changing, and I love it. New seasons mean new rhythms for myself and my family. We take a look at everything in the calendar, all the commitments we’ve already made and all the optional activities we get to take up or leave alone. The start of a new season gives us the opportunity to make adjustments to our routines and look forward to the new normal we create. We try to embrace the chance to cultivate good things for our family with each new quarter.

What do you want to be different a year from now? That change needs to start today, whether with small adjustments or with large sweeping moves. We’re making some health changes in the Malley house in this season. So I’ve been reading all the blogs, listening to as many podcasts as my kiddos allow, and when I became overwhelmed with the information overload that all seemed to be a little lofty and sometimes contradictory, I made an appointment with a nutritionist. And she was able to help me simplify the health goals I have for my family. She gave me the tools and encouragement to get me started in the right direction. My husband, my kids, and myself are all making changes, some small, some less so, but they’re all changes moving us a little closer to healthier versions of ourselves.

Sometimes all it takes is someone to really listen in as we share a piece of our story, someone who makes us feel less alone in the struggle to find the goals worth fighting for. Financial goals are important in financial health. Do you know yours? Maybe you have tried to make improvements to your financial health but you’ve been overwhelmed by the information overload. Maybe you know your goals, but you don’t have resources to help you achieve them. Or maybe you have tried to stick with a goal you’ve set but become discouraged along the way. Everybody’s situation is a little bit different. A financial coach can give you the direction, tools, and encouragement to begin making changes that will motivate you to reach those goals for financial health.

You can wait until the next season to get started or the one after that, maybe next year or after you achieve all the other goals you’re already working towards. Or you can start now, right now and do something today that your future self will thank you for. Have the freedom to hope for whatever you dream is possible in your financial future, and make changes that bring you closer to that.
